It’s my great pleasure to have the opportunity to participate in the Winter Tutorial Programme,and I really gratitude to both Jilin University and University of Oxford for organizing such a wonderful programme.I have gained a lot.
First,through the relative reading materials provided for us and the sufficient illustration of the teacher,I have learned much about the hotpots in Ethics.Since I am quite interested in Ethics,it’s no doubt that the programme enriched my knowledge in such area.
Second,I have learned the writing rules and skills from the Academic Assistance Sessions,which are very useful.My English-writing abilities have improved a lot,and I have finished two writing assignments successfully during the programme.The assessment and suggestions from our teacher also help me to improve myself.
Third,I have gained much progress in reading English materials.Before each session,we are assigned to read the relative materials.This not only helps us to preview and be familiar with the topic to be discussed in the next session,but also enhances our reading ability.Now I’m able to read English essays efficiently as well as picking the core opinions and getting the general guidelines for the argument.
Fourth,I really enjoy the teaching methods of Oxford,which are full of discussion and interaction.The questions proposed by our teacher lead us to thinking critically by ourselves.In addition,my English-expression ability has also improved a lot through our interaction with each other.
All in all,the programme have improved my academic competence and further inspired my passion for Ethics.I sincerely hope that more programs like that can be held in the near future.
