I am very glad that I was able to participate in this course this winter break, which enriched my vacation time. With professional academic guidance, rational organization and efficient group work, I felt a better understanding of knowledge than ever before.
For me, this course has first of all honed my English skills. It was the first time I tried to complete an academic assignment in a pure English language environment, which was a great challenge, but fun. I also learned that language does have an impact on thinking, and in a sense the boundaries of language are the boundaries of thinking. So it is in this sense that the increase in language skills is about gaining the freedom to touch more expressions and ideas.
Secondly, I learned the basic concepts and skills of critical thinking and the basic requirements of academic writing from this course, which helped me a lot. In the past, it was easy to accept the views of authorities without reflection and neglect to think about the inner logic. This is not conducive to realizing the truth, but also easily leads to the degradation of thinking skills.
Finally, the assignments done in group are also an important part of the class. I was very fortunate that the group members I worked with were very responsible and I could feel their deep academic knowledge and excellent writing skills. Before the course, I was very worried about ineffective group work and shirking responsibilities, but we actually worked together very efficiently and my peers were very helpful. I learned from them about the content of other disciplines, felt a different way of thinking, and thus recognized my own shortcomings and continued to learn in a focused manner.
